After twenty-six hours of fire damage, the front- face of Chennai silks textile showroom had partially collapsed on Thursday morning. Notably, the stories between second and seventh floor had already collapsed on Wednesday midnight. Several media reports also suggest that the corporation is planning to demolish the fire engulfed structure once the fire has been doused. Notably, Urban Development Minister Udhumalai Radhakrishnan announced that the government would demolish other buildings in the area that have violated regulations.
