An intro song in a Tamil film is very important and it assumes paramount importance when superstar features in a film as this track is the starting point of all the excitement which follows in the course of the film.
The general practice over the years in Rajini’s films is veteran singer SP Balasubramanian lending his voice to the intro number. But the same practice was broken in Kabali when Ulagam Oruvanukka was sung by Santhosh Narayanan, Ananthu, Gaana Bala and Roshan Jamrock which had John Vijay accompanying Rajinikanth in the visuals.
Coming to Kala’s intro song which is reportedly being shot now in Mumbai, it will be interesting to check out if Ranjith is going to follow the Kabali template of having another singer for the intro number or stick to the old prototype of using SPB for it.
Since the Kabali combo of Ranjith-Santhosh Narayanan is here in Kaala also, it might be the same or Ranjith might throw a fresh surprise at the audience. All the same, there is no doubt that it is going to be powerful and energetic.
