A docudrama about India’s legendary cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar, Sachin: A Billion Dreams was released yesterday, 27th of May. Considering to be a documentary, the Sachin did not get a big opening in places like Chennai and other regional cities.
However the film has opened in a good number of screens in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra. In places like Chennai, even with a limited release, the response has been rock solid. The all-India first day Nett collection is around 8.50 crores (all four languages included) which is an impressive feat for a documentary. Thanks to the love that people have for Sachin even after 5 years of his retirement.
