Tamil Nadu on Tuesday reportedly joined the likes of Kerala and Kolkata in protest against the slaughter of cattle. Several political parties including DMK staged a protest against the state government for not opposing the Centre on the issue. Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam also raised slogans and distributed beef. Around 150 protesters were arrested for attempting to slipper an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
