In a case of tax fraud, Spain’s Supreme Court confirmed 21-month jail term for Argentinian football captain Lionel Messi and his father as they have lost appeals. Messi will be paying a fine of £1.75million, while it is £1.3million for his father. However, according to the Spanish law, a sentence under two years for non-violent crime can be served as probation. This means Messi is unlikely to serve the jail term.
